Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. He combines soul gospel jazz with R&B for a distinctive blend. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe, as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real title is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta however, her roots lie located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue the musical profession by singing and playing the piano at church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on Atlanta's R&B music scene. In 2005 she took on the role of the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the director of the choral group for the stage production. Sunshine was noticed by the nation during 4 performances a day during 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being requested to sing with the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
