Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. Burrell was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares simple and easy to master cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. The chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She also has learned about Italy's food traditions and the culture of Italy, along with the natural environment. Burrell, who grew up within New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." I couldn't seem to get enough enjoyment from it. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one time in Italy taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In Italy the chef gained an appreciation and knowledge of Italian cuisine. This had an enormous influence on her perception of food. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of children who are struggling. She also is a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate in which she promotes awareness of young diabetics. Burrell travels extensively across the nation in her capacity as both a mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her work and passion for cooking. Anne said she felt lucky that I could be able to share her passion for cooking with others.
