Sasha Allen was the only transgender person who has reached the Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. This has been the situation for the past 21 seasons. The Newtown duo of Jim and Sasha Allen, are now in the Top 8 throughout the 21 years of The Voice Live Shows! Sasha declared that he's transgender as part of the Blind Auditions package. He admitted to Parade.com that it took a lot of thought before making the decision. Sasha was transgender in high school and said that it was difficult to share such the vulnerability of his character to people. "But [last week during fan week], seeing the support of fans and their reactions and how that has impacted individuals really proved that this was a worthwhile decision and the right decision regardless of the fact that it was an extremely difficult decision to make." "'Have you ever Seen the Rain' is one of the songs that was on a list of songs that we've been wanting to be a part of the show for a really long time," Sasha told Parade.com. The song was performed before The Voice even existed. We were thrilled when we heard the song. We had heard of the song and had some thoughts on how to arrange it. The crowd were awestruck."
